SAMSUNG SCH-B600 World's First 10 Megapixel Camera Phone

Samsung reached another milestone in camera phones by launching 10 megapixel camera phone SCH-B600.The10 megapixel camera phone SCH-B600 is 6mm thinner and 10g lighter than the Samsung 7 megapixel camera phone SCH-V770 and sets itself apart from its previous megapixel camera phones by combining mobile TV capability in Satellite standard. The SCH-B600 offers the same level of picture-taking sophistication that a 10 megapixel digital camera offers. The camera function includes 3x optical zoom and 5x digital zoom.

Samsung SCH-B600 comes fitted with a LED autofocus feature which assists users to capture clear, crisp photos even in dark settings. The B600 also supports white balance, manual focus, continuous picture-taking, and interval picture-taking functions.

It also supports Bluetooth which enables users to send pictures wirelessly to other mobile phones, printers or to Bluetooth headsets. The high color Reproduction 2.2" 240x320 16M Color TFT LCD produces the highest possible display for its size. Moving pictures can be recorded in QVGA resolution at 15-30 frames per second. Users can watch live TV in crisp picture through Satellite DMB function. You can purchase this 10-megapixel camera phone at Korea for approximately $900.

Helio Heat with Electrostatic Touchpad

Virtual network operator Helio announced the Heat, a uniquely stylized slider phone. The variant of the Samsung A303 uses touch-sensitive controls around the central keypad, minimizing the clutter at the front. As with the Drift, GPS is built-in and uses Google Maps to both pinpoint the phone's location as well as use the carrier's Buddy Beacon feature to find other users. A 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and MP3/MP4 playback are further shared with other Helio models. Software and a gallery follow after the jump.

Web-friendly software is the true novelty of the phone, Helio says. For the first time, mobile versions of Boing Boing, Digg, Metroblogging, and Wikipedia are accessible from the phone -- allowing cellphone owners to track and contribute to alternative news sources. All four sites will be available for free by the end of this month when accessed with an unlimited data plan; the Heat itself is available today in Onyx for $150 and will ship in the pictured Gold in the near future.

Samsung Helio Drift Phone

Rumours about Helio drift have been circulating on the internet for quiet a while now, and after rather an excruciatingly long wait, the phone has finally gone official. This all new feature-rich baby is not just another cell phone with some multimedia goodies, but it can also act as a GPS device as it comes with an integrated GPS module that is bundled up with GPS-enabled version of Google Maps.

The phone boasts of a slider design and not to mention the impressive spec sheet. Perhaps the most noticeable thing would obviously be "Buddy Beacon" feature, a location-based system for locating and mapping a preselected list of friends. It means that the moment you flip it on, and friend with the same phone can see where you are on the map. Some feature isn't it? Apart from that it features 2MP camera, 128MB memory, stereo bluetooth and a microSD slot. It is available in shades of frost white and gunmetal black at an attractive price tag of $225. Not a bad buy by any stretch of your imagination!

Samsung SPH-B5800 first mobile phone to support TPEG service

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd announced the launch of a terrestrial Digital Media Broadcasting phone SPH-B5800 that supports Transport Protocol Experts Group (TPEG) feature. TPEG feature is a transportation information service based on terrestrial DMB data broadcasting. Samsung SPH-B5800 is the first mobile phone to support the TPEG service.

The Samsung SPH-B5800 provides users with traffic information updated every five minutes, as well as information about famous local restaurants and travel guides via terrestrial DMB channels. The B5800 supports a feature that allows users to view all channel lists while viewing DMB programs and thus, enables users to easily browse and find desired programs Moreover, unlike GPS in the past, there is no longer a need to access servers: Traffic information received via terrestrial broadcasting can be used to determine routes.The Samsung B5800 is exquisitely-styled with a thinness of 16.3 mm and it adopts a touch sensor that allows users to easily operate menus with the tip of their fingers.

In order to limit errors from pressing the wrong key, frequently used keys located in the center are buttons, while the menu keys located on the sides use a touch sensor. The B5800 also includes a 2 megapixel camera, a 330,000 word electronic dictionary, ‘My Pet' function, file viewer, and audio book.The B8500 will be released in Korea this month and the price is around $600. A subscription to a telematics service is required to use the TPEG service.

Samsung Z720 Ultra Edition

Samsung Electronics launched the Ultra Edition SGH-Z720 - the thinnest HSDPA slide-up mobile with a slim 13.8mm profile. The new mobile offers the latest multimedia features and the best of mobility in a fast and slender design. Powered by High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) for data transmission speeds at 1.8 Mbps - up to six times faster than 3G UMTS technology – the Ultra Edition 13.8 Samsung Z720 enables mobile users to access more files and provides greater fidelity for streaming video content. The Ultra Edition 13.8 -Z720 weighs only 80 grams, extremely light for a HSDPA handset and comes packed with a 3 megapixel camera with auto focus for taking photos anytime and anyplace.

The wide dimension of 104.5x51.3mm allows for a generous 2.1” QVGA display and also WAP 2.0 and HTML browsing capabilities are supported. In order to fully enjoy all of the 3G benefits, the Ultra Edition 13.8 (Z720) also includes a second camera for video telephony.

Samsung SOUL Dynamic Touch Phone

Samsung has released a new slider in Europe called Soul, its new flagship slider phone. Serving as the final bow for the Ultra Edition, it blends in a split-screen, context-sensitive touch control system similar to that of the LG Venus: rather than rely on fixed buttons or an entire front touch surface, the Soul includes a small touchscreen area whose buttons change depending on the immediate context for the screen above. When playing music, track controls replace normal commands, Samsung says in an example. The Soul is also the first Samsung handset to sport a themed UI where the entire look and sound can be replaced at once.

The handset is both very camera- and data-focused. A 5-megapixel camera is accompanied by a high-power LED flash as well as by face detection and image stabilization - all features normally reserved for some of the better dedicated cameras, the company says. Transfers are quick with 3G Internet access over HSDPA up to 7.2Mbps downstream; the phone supports North America with quad-band calling over GSM, though whether it also supports 3G in the Western region is unknown. The phone makes heavy use of Google features and supports built-in Gmail and search functions, including a dedicated button at the top level of the interface.

The 12.8mm (0.5in) thick phone is said to be music-savvy with AAC, FM radio, MP3, and WMA support, including protected WMA music stores. Bang & Olufsen's ICEpower audio enhancement technology is also onboard the Soul, which should be available first in Europe by April but is likely to see service in the US through AT&T if left in its current form.
